Project

FAQ about the project

A project by youth for youth. We offer a space and an event where young people can spend their time meaningfully, where young people with fewer opportunities are equally included as others, where nationality and culture are not discriminated against, and where they can learn practical skills outside of school.

The project is open to anyone who enjoys having fun and learning new things in an interesting way. Knowledge of Slovenian is not required for participation. The target group is young people who want to meet new people and gain new knowledge.

No, the project is free of charge. At the event, we offer various board games as well as local food and drinks.

During our travels through Scandinavian countries, we were greatly inspired by observing the strong values of the European Union and the sense of solidarity at every turn. Together, we decided to bring these values to our border town, and that’s how the idea and vision for the project began to develop.

Co-creation of activities

Democratic selection of board games

When planning the events, we focused on including everything that matters to young people—fun, gaining new knowledge, and creating new friendships. One of the key activities is the board game night, where participants democratically choose the game for the event. We offer them a selection of games, while also welcoming new ideas and suggestions.

Learning through play

At the board game night, we first explain the rules of the chosen game and allow participants to try it out themselves. This is followed by an analysis of the game, where we present optimal strategies and playing methods from a mathematical perspective, specifically game theory. This way, we put the new knowledge into practice by playing the game again, where participants develop and apply different strategies.
