Who are we?

We are a group of young people committed to creating lasting connections between the residents of Nova Gorica and Gorizia, as well as actively engaging our peers in the various activities and initiatives of the association. Our vision goes beyond merely bringing city residents together in joint activities; we also strive to create an inclusive environment where young people feel valued, heard, and have an active role in shaping the future of our society. We recognize the importance of building connections and respecting intercultural differences, while also promoting the growth of individuals and the community as a whole, with the goal of creating a better and more connected environment for all the residents of our city.

Why Unija?

The word “Unija” originates from the mathematical concept of a union, which represents a set of all elements. This analogy reflects the openness and inclusiveness of the association towards all individuals, regardless of their background, affiliation, or status. The name symbolizes the organisations openness to anyone who wishes to become part of the community and inclusion of diverse individuals with various perspectives, just as a union in mathematical terms encompasses all elements.

Moreover, this name choice also highlights the inclusion of young people in society and their involvement in projects like ours. The name “Unija” emphasizes the importance of engaging youth in social activities and stresses that young people are equal members of society, with the same opportunities to participate and co-create positive change.

Instagram

In addition to the website, we also post updates on our Instagram profile.

What do young people say about the project?

It’s about time that young people have a space where we can meet in person and step away from screens through play. The best part of the project is meeting new people.

The event is really fun. I like it because there are games of varying difficulty levels, so it feels like everyone can find something they enjoy. The game presentations also make the learning process easier for us.

I find the project very interesting. I had fun learning to play new games that were unique and out of the ordinary. It’s a great way to socialize with friends and meet new people.
